Why the free plan works.
Sleeping servers keep the free plan efficient. Optional upgrades are there when you need more.
Only active servers run
Free servers sleep after 10 minutes without players and wake automatically when someone joins.
Shared infrastructure
Free and paid servers use the same Hetzner hardware in Finland. Paid plans include more RAM, CPU and idle time.
Optional upgrades
Add resources or 24/7 uptime with credits. The free plan has no trial deadline.
Everything you need to run a server.
Same machines as paid plans. Paid just adds more RAM, CPU cores, and idle time.
Live in just a minute
Pick any name and version. We'll handle the ports, flags and proxy routing for you.
Easily discoverable
Public servers show up in the lobby browser, so players can find you without a link.
Java and Bedrock compatible, with no effort required.
Same address for both. Geyser and Floodgate run on our proxy, not on your server.
Plugin and modpack installation in just a click
Paper, Fabric and Forge, plus a one-click plugin browser in the panel.
DDoS protection
Always-on filtering at the edge, on the same hardware as paid servers.
Never worry about your server shutting off
Free servers sleep after 10 minutes empty, and start again the moment someone joins.
Up in three steps.
Leave the hassle of hosting to us.
- 1
Create your server
Name it, pick Paper, Fabric or Forge.
- 2
It lands on the hub
Public by default. Private mode is one switch.
- 3
Players find you
They join from the lobby, or use your own address.
Players find you.
Most free hosts hand you an empty box and an IP. Every public SwiftServers world also shows up in a shared lobby, with Java and Bedrock on the same address.
- Busy servers rise on the in-game board, and you set the vote rewards.
- A sleeping server stays listed, and wakes when someone joins.
- Bedrock uses the same address on port 19132.

In the lobby, Java players can also type

- Backups
- Create backups in the panel. Copies are stored on encrypted Hetzner storage.
From the people running them.
“Swift has made managing my server easier than ever. The panel is clean, and the servers are fast enough that I never hear complaints.”
“Excellent service. Performance is solid, and support actually responds quickly and knows what they’re talking about.”
“Might be the best free server hosting website. No ads all over the place, and the free plan costs like $15 a month elsewhere.”
Questions we get a lot.
Do I need a credit card?
No. There’s no trial that runs out either.
How can this be free?
Empty free servers sleep after 10 minutes, everyone shares the same machines, and people who want more RAM, CPU or 24/7 uptime pay with credits.
How much CPU do I get?
The free plan reserves 1.5 CPU cores for your server. Essential gets 2 cores and Pro gets 2.5.
Is my server public or private?
Public by default, so it appears in the hub lobby. Private mode hides it; players then need your direct address.
What happens when nobody is playing?
Free servers shut down after 10 minutes empty, and start again when someone joins from the hub or your address. Paid plans wait longer.
What if I stop using my free server?
Free while you use it. If a free server sits with no players for a long time, we may hibernate or delete it so the slot can go to someone active. Keep your own world backups.
Can Bedrock players join?
Yes, on the same address Java players use. There’s nothing for you to install.
Can I install plugins and modpacks?
Yes. Paper, Fabric and Forge are supported, plugins install from the panel, and you get full file access.
